3 things to check before you send your script.

04.12.23

You’re in charge of a video project. Perhaps an explainer video, promo, or a training vid. You’ve got fab creatives onboard and found an amazing voice for the project (me obvs!). You’ve just got the finalised script and you’re about to hit ‘send’ so your Voiceover Artist cando the magic.

One sec though!

3 things to check to nail your voiceover brief

Before you send it, check these 3 things and I promise you it will save time and give your voiceover the best chance of nailing it first time for you.

  1. Are you sure it really is the length you want? Have a little read through, out loud at the pace you want it to be. There’s often quite a difference between the length something seems to be on the page and what it becomes when you speak it at a normal pace. If it’s a little over or under, we can usually make it work but It’s good togive your voiceover room to do their thing!
  2. Are there any tricky pronunciations? Names, abbreviations, jargon. Something that may seem obvious to you but might need a voiceover to clarify might slow the process down. Feel free to feel like you’re patronising me! I’d rather that than have to check and take up more of your time.
  3. One final check for typos. If there’s something I’m not sure about I’ll usually pop an alternative take or two in but it’s good to get it right first time!

Nailing it first time is the name of the game so do these 3, and your VO will not only be able to do just that, but they will also love you forever!
